I haven't posted a blog in a long while so thought I was due. For the last couple of months I have embarked on a new passion - painting furniture. I have always been a big fan of antiques, painting little pieces of furniture & such. As I moved into my new home I looked around and didn't love some of the pieces I had purchased through the years ( we all have some changing tastes). Instead of tossing them out & buying all new I decided that I was going to upsycle these pieces and see what I could come up with.
As it turns out I had such fun doing this & was really rewarded with the final projects. This allows me to be creative and actually has really helped with my Rheumatoid Arthritis. Yes I get sore, but I am always sore so at least I feel it's for a reason!
I have enjoyed this so much that I have started a facebook page showing pieces I have done for myself & for friends & family. I have turned into an estate sale stalker looking for original pieces to paint & sell. This has turned into a little business for me as I also paint items I find to sell as well as paint pieces that people already have & want a new look.
Along the way I also am selling collectibles I happen to stumble upon on my estate & antique stops. I also have smaller crafts I have for sale such as decorative trays, signs, picture frames & mason jars.
I primarily paint with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint which is quite expensive but so worth it int he the end.
Below is my facebook page site - Please take a look & "like" the page.
I have also posted some of the items I have done so far.
Check out & follow my site on Facebook
https://www.facebook.com/UNDERGROUNDfurniture
This was a estate sale find and old dry sink. I immediately fell in love w/ this & new exactly what I wanted to do. Annie Sloan Chalk Paint , distressing & wax. Found these brilliant owl knobs & it was a done deal.
This was an antique secretary that I bought several years ago. I never liked the shiny veneer finish so finally decided to have a go at it. I couldn't be happier with the final product.
This I got for a steal at an Antique center. I envisioned it as my new vanity. Added a pop of color to this one. It is now settled lovingly in my room.
These side tables I painted for my sister in law Laura. The inside color of these tables is the color used on one of her walls in her living room to tie everything back together.
This was another great find at a sale. This desk was a shiny bright yellow with loud orange handles. I painted this with Annie Sloan paint & used a dark wax on the drawers. I also used the Annie Sloan paint to change the knobs.
These are just a couple of the items I have finished. Always adding new stuff to the site.
I will try to update the blog more often.

Bachelorette Blog - "The Right Reasons"
Week two brings us dates, tears, fighting, cringe-worthy rapping and one sob story after another. This is starting to get good.
Week two also brings the overload of candy that will be consumed during the course of our "journey"
See below..
This is a problem....
Let's get started:
First one-on-one: Brooks
Brooks gets the first date card and yes he appears to be genuine, sweet & there for the "right reasons" but I have a hard time getting past his teeth. I don't know why but they scare me. Their date consists of dressing up in wedding attire (boring), eating dinner on a bridge (a bit better) then finally dancing alone to a singer I don't know (humiliating). I said it while watching, Brooks is in it for the long haul..final 3, possibly the victor?!
Group Date:
On this date were a bunch of guys I don't know & the ones that count. Brandon, James, Zak W., Ben & Drew. This is possibly one of the worst things I have seen on the Bachelor/ette franchise since I have been watching. Des & crew will be doing their very own rap video with someone called Soljah Boy. (I truly can't stop laughing) At this point I think I may have blacked out for a bit. I know nothing about rap but I am pretty sure that what I watched as the end result will be forever burnt in my brain. There truly are no words.
The men bicker just as bad as the ladies do, possibly a bit more. Ben seems to be getting on everyone's nerves, I haven't figured him out yet. Is he the sweet Dad we saw at into's of a snarkey Bentley wannabe?
I have to say these men have loads of sob stories, disappearing dads, addict moms, horrific car accidents & diabetes. Well we didn't get the full sob story on the diabetes since snarky Ben interrupted that one. Maybe he isn't half bad - good save.
One-on-One:
Bryden gets this date. Being from Montana Des thinks it would be nice to take him sightseeing around LA area. Beach, attempting kite flying, fish tacos, top down chewing gum after fish tacos. Next up our first hot tub scene of the season, awkward talking followed by Des asking to be kissed. I am not sure if this was a bit hot or totally awkward. I like Bryden but he really needs a new hairstyle.
Cocktail Party:
Basically more whining & complaining about Ben. A couple of people I don't know get the boot.
Next week shows a girlfriend of a suitor showing up and losing her mind. I love it, who is going to get the smacksown.

Bachelorette Blog - Let The Games Begin....
It's that time again...time for tears, fighting, helicopter rides, make out sessions in the hot tub and hearing the word "journey" about 25,765 times. Yes that's right...it's BacheloretteTime!!!
Our Bachelorette this season is Desiree. A cast-off last season with the weirdo brother who begged Sean to keep her after he denied her a rose...tear!!!
This episode is all about getting to know the guys & speculate who we think will get to go on the "journey" with Des. ( and the awesome free vacations)
I have to start with saying that even though we know I love The Bachelorette - why god why did we have to have the ridiculous montage of Des frolicking on the beach, and skating around the boardwalk trying on hats & sunglasses. I am sorry NO ONE does this, especially alone. This was more ridiculous then us watching Sean shower every episode last season.
Ok, back to the matter at hand. The men!!!
The Good:
1 Drew - Good Chemistry, loved how he was genuinely shy & nervous. I think he will go far.
2. Ben - brought in the ace - his cute little kid. Cheater. Seems perfect from the start...previews shows a different side... A BENTLEY SIDE????
3. Brandon - Didn't do anything outrageous, I am just drawn to him. My favorite so far.
The Not So Good:
1. Jonathan - Creepy Creeperson trying to lure Des into a dark room 3x. Got sent home immediately. Your not funny guy your just plain creepy.
2. Dr. Larry - Poor Dr. Larry - tried to impress Des with his dance moves & instead ripped her dress. He was so upset about it the whole episode then basically blamed her on his exit interview. Bye Bye Doc!
3. Kasey - #hashtagasshole #pleasestop #yourannoying #pleasepleasemakeitstop
Looks like this season will not disappoint with plenty of tears, fighting & drama. Next week we start the dates & will see every ones true colors seep out.
Here we go!!!!!!

Gleb Blog - DWTS..Cha Cha Cha
I had the privilege of watching DWTS with my little brother John last night, after lasts weeks blog he is now fully aware of what a "Gleb" is. So with snacks in tow he was ready for his first episode of DWTS. The competition is picking up & this week celebrated the Best Year of the Celebrity's life. Lots of happy moments, tears and a drop to the floor (& no this wasn't my brother b/c I was forcing him to watch this)!
As the weeks go by & the more we get to see of Gleb the more I like him. Not only is he a talented dancer but from the clip we saw he is a gentleman as well. When Lisa fainted & she wanted to continue to practice he did the right thing by putting her health first. As a new pro on this season he has to work a lot harder to garner the attention & fan base as the other Pro dancers. By not rehearsing he ultimately knows this can hurt their chances to stay in the competition.
With that being said I think they Cha Cha'd their butts off & we hope that the fans that he & Lisa have made did enough to bring them back for another week. I did my part & I hope that you did too. ( I did secretly dial in my votes without my brother being the wiser).
I also think that we should get to see Gleb & his talented partner Elena perform on the show. What a great way to really see how talented they both are when you are dancing with an equally as talented partner.
I am also loving Mr. Andy Dick at the moment, who doesn't love a comeback story!
Crossing fingers tonight!!!!
P.S. Gleb - status on the underwear design ;)

What is a Gleb????
What is a Gleb? This was the question posed to me by my brother and by simple definition...
A "Gleb" is a person who takes on the opportunity to follow their dreams... or a really hot & talented dancer on DWTS. Either way that is what a "Gleb" is to me. From 2 weeks ago an unknown to all of us with as he said about 200 twitter followers to last night almost 10,000 followers.
After a close call last week being in the bottom 2 with Lisa, they danced a beautiful Waltz, & I think will be making their way up the leader board. You can see the enthusiasm & delight on his face being in the ballroom.
AS Gleb caught my eye as well as many others with his talent, humor and laughter making his mark here in the states. He & his lovely & talented partner Elena take the time to "like" & respond to fans on Facebook & Twitter and that definitely gets people motivated to spread the word and cheer on this fantastic team.
He posts fun photos & keeps his fans in the loop about what is happening... rehearsal photos, first movie premiere, etc..
Gleb & lovely partner Elena Samodanova at GI Joe Premiere (love the Louboutin's)
Rehearsing with Lisa...
Amazing new Dancer's ....
A fun page to follow is also @KatTalesTV on twitter. She has some great photos & videos of all the crew from DWTS.
So after some mindless fun here's hoping Gleb is safe to entertain another week.

Dancing with the Common Folk...
Holy crap Gleb that was a close one....
For some reason after seeing Gleb on DWTS and our confirmed "friendship" status on Facebook I have decided that this new series of blogs will be dedicated to the newest amazing dancer Gleb Savchenko. Why, because that's what is making me smile this week. Oh and this below, not only are we "facebook friends" he even likes my status.
I was on the edge of my seat with Gleb in the final 2. Way to soon for this newbie to have to be sent home, would have been upsetting for him and disastrous for all of us!!! As you can tell the new dancers need time to establish themselves and build their fan base since the bottom two was both new dancers. I was sad to see the lovely Dorothy Hamill go home but thankfully that saved Gleb to dance another dance.
He had an amazing dance with the professionals and the new troupe dancers. I got to tell you watching this show makes me daydream about being able to dance. As anyone who knows me I dance as well as Elaine from Seinfeld. (except of course in my own mind after a couple of cocktails)!! Then of course I have all the confidence in the world. Which brings me to what I dreamed about last night. Instead of Dancing With The Stars, it was professional dancers dancing with us common folk, just ordinary people wanting to learn just 1 dance. Then this dance would follow us around everywhere we went, weddings, sweet sixteens, the bar on a Saturday night. One week, one dance with one amazing teacher and I would be Cha Chaing my ass off. Just to be clear Gleb was my partner. Then I woke up.
My lovely 5 year old daughter takes ballet, tape & gymnastics and I pray to the DWTS gods that she doesn't take after me and has the talent to gracefully float across the dance floor.
Now since Gleb has been saved for another week time to spread the word and get votes, votes & more votes!!! As with anything this is a new beginning for him in being in DWTS and another reason to make Mondays seem bearable.
Go Gleb!!!
P.S. So Gleb when your run on DWTS is over NY is a cool place to give a girl a dance lesson :) A girl can dream can't she.

Mondays just got so much sweeter...Welcome Gleb!
As I have said 98% of my blogs are fluff stuff things that make me laugh, smile or want to elbow someone in the face. My blogging of The Bachelor/ette series is nothing more than a guilty pleasure and some comedic relief.
Since Sean's season ended and I heard he would be on DWTS I decided to watch and see how our Sean would fair in the dancing world. Well once Mr. Gleb Savchenko filled my screen I was like "Sean who"? Not only is Gleb lovely to look at he actually made me laugh as well which wins you huge points in my book. I have no idea who this Lisa lady is but she made me grin as well.
Being the total social media loser that I am what was my next instinct...see if Gleb had a facebook page to like. Well to my delight not only did he have a page he also accepted friends. Holy shit my lucky day. I feverishly hit the friend request button and held on with baited breath. Not to long later I received the following...
Well since Gleb and I are now officially BFF I will be watching & rooting for my good friend!!!
Go Gleb!!!
